Health Occupations Authority: Advertisers and Doctors Referred to Anti-Cyber Crimes Dept.

Bahrain Mirror: The head of the National Health Regulatory Authority of Occupations and Services, Mariam Al-Jalahma, revealed that the Authority has recorded a number of health violations and many advertisements that exceeded the permissible limit, pointing out that the Authority had previously summoned doctors who violated the conditions and alerted them to the need to change the ads, adding that many of them did cooperate and change the ads.
Al-Jalahma pointed out that the most prominent and serious violations observed by the Authority is the advertisement of unauthorized drugs or selling them without a license, as well as an advertisement promoting a doctor by claiming his medical level of expertise is more than it actually is, also highlighting that some of the advertisements, in violation of the law and which includes the sale of medicines without a license, are being referred to the Anti-Cyber Crimes Department, which in turn will investigate the cases and refer them to the prosecution.
She confirmed that the most dangerous violations detected on social media sites is the sale of slimming drugs and vitamin supplements, warning against answering these ads.
