Life Sentence Handed down to 10 Bahrainis, 24 Stripped of their Citizenships over Charges of “Forming Terrorist Group”

Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court convicted 24 defendants of forming a "terrorist group", receiving training in Iran and Iraq on the use of weapons and explosives, and the attempted murder of policemen by bombings in Bahrain, sentencing 10 to life imprisonment, 10 others to 10 years in prison, three defendants to 5 years and another tp three years, while acquitting a defendant of the charges. The Court also ordered revoking the nationalities of all the defendants and confiscating the seizures.
In its ruling against the twenty-third defendant, the Court stated that he was 15 old so he was still under 18 years of age on the date the incident took place, thus basing the verdict on mitigating circumstances, set forth in Articles 70 and 71 of the Penal Code.
The Court also confirmed acquitting the 22nd defendant, stating that the attesting witnesses' statements and the confessions of the defendants, who during the prosecution's interrogations did not mention that the accused had joined the terrorist group or or participated in any of the incidents. And the case papers did not provide evidence that he contributed to committing the acts attributed to him.
According to the attorneys, the court sentenced:
1- Qassim Abdullah Ali Al-Mo'men to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
2- Ahmed Mohamed Zinedine to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
3- Hussein Eid Ali al-Bari to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
4- Saeed Jaafar Mohammed al-Uraybi to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
5- Mustafa Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mo'men to 5 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
6- Yasser Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mo'men to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
7- Ali Jaafar Abdullah Al-Mo'men to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
8- Hussein Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mo'men to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
9- Qassim Ahmed al-Maliki to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
10- Hassan Ali Abdul-Jabbar Al-Hamer to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
11- Ahmed Ali Mahdi to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
12 - Ahmed Jassim Saeed to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
13- Ali Jaafar Radhi to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
14- Ali Abdul Rasool Ibrahim to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
15- Ahmed Ali Ali Sheikh to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
16- Sayed Ali Mohammed al-Musawi to life in prison, stripping him of his nationality
17- Ali Abdullah Al-Banaa to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
18- Saeed Abdullah Al-Ali to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
19- Hussein Abdel Ameer Sanad to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
20- Hassan Ismail Oreibi to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
21 - Mohammed Ali Al-Sheikh to 10 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
22- While Mohammed Jaafar Abdullah Ali was acquitted
23- Ammar Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mo'men to 3 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
24- Sayed Abdullah Al-Sanadid to 5 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
25- Sadiq Khalil Ibrahim Mekki to 5 years in prison, stripping him of his nationality
