Reports Say Families of Prisoners on Death Row Informed to Attend Military Court Tomorrow
2018-04-26 - 1:30 am
Bahrain Mirror: There are reports saying that the families of the Bahrainis sentenced to death, and whose verdict was upheld today by the Military Court of Cassation, were informed that one person from each family should attend the military court tomorrow at 9:30 am for reasons that were not revealed.
Bahrainis fear that the summoning of the families will come in the context of issuing the decision to execute the death sentences, which raised questions about whether the ratification was given by the country's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, since the verdict was issued only two hours before the phone calls received by the families.
Article 74 of the Constitution of Bahrain stipulates that death penalties cannot be implemented without king's ratification.
