Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth Bahraini High Criminal Court sentenced in absentia a defendant to five years in prison for placing a mock-up of explosives in a public place.
In December 2016, the Public Prosecution had charged the defendant with planting a replica of a simulated explosive device, along with unknown others, on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Aali area opposite the driving school. The replica consists of a medium-size gas cylinder painted black with connected electric wires, a digital clock and metal box.
The Public Prosecution said that the accused intended to instill terror in the hearts of citizens and residents and disrupt the security and safety of the kingdom.
