Cabinet Approves Toughening Penalty for Manufacture and Use of Molotov Cocktails Reaching Up to Death Penalty

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Cabinet discussed in its weekly session on Monday (May 21, 2018) the punishment for the manufacture and use of Molotov cocktails.
An official statement issued by the government said that the Council of Ministers approved toughening the penalty for the crime of manufacture, possession and use of flammable containers for the purpose of threatening people's lives as well as public and private properties.
The Council of Ministers approved a bill increasing the penalty from detention and a fine to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years and a fine for anyone who manufactures them, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years and a fine for anyone who has possession of them, and imprisonment for a term not exceeding 8 years for anyone who distributes and uses them, life or temporary imprisonment not less than 10 years if their use leads to permanent disability, death penalty or life imprisonment if their use leads to the death of a person. The Cabinet decided to refer a bill amending some provisions of the Penal Code promulgated by Legislative Decree No. (15) of 1976 to the legislative authority (Shura Council and House of Representatives).
