5679 Illegal Foreign Workers were Expelled since 2013

Bahrain Mirror: An official study received by the service committee in the House of Representatives revealed that the number of illegal foreign workers who were deported between 2013 to March 2018 was 5679.
The House of Representatives will discuss in its coming session a bill to replace an item of article (36) of the labour market, giving the court discretion to deport illegal foreign worker in case of conviction "instead of mandatory expulsion".
Labour market regulatory authority rejected the bill, since its application encourage some foreign workers to break the law, which will result in weakening the legal tools used by Bahrain in combating irregular employment.
