Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, the largest opposition political group in Bahrain, considered that the trial of Nabeel Rajab, president of Bahrain Center for Human Rights and prominent human rights defender, is "politicized and unfair", condemning the 5-year jail term issued by the Appeals court against him over "expressing his opinion".
The society said in a statement on Tuesday (June 5, 2018) that the Rajab's ongoing detention is a clear abuse index by the regime, despite the tireless international and human rights appeals that condemn the continuation of detention.
Al-Wefaq called for Nabeel Rajab's immediate and unconditional release, indicating that the stances issued by the UN and human rights organizations were a clear message for the illegitimacy of trial that imprisoned Nabeel Rajab as well as hundreds of prisoners of conscience.
