Former Minister of Commerce Habeeb Qassim Passes Away

Bahrain Mirror: Former Minister of Chamber of Commerce Habeeb Qassim, who assumed this post for 2 decades, died on Tuesday (June 12, 2018).
Qassim started his career as an English teacher in the Ministry of Education and then moved to Ministry of Commerce. He contributed in founding the presidency and membership of number of companies including chairman of the Board of Directors Bahrain of Al-Mahd Investment Company, Ferro Alloys, Electricity Supply and Distribution Company, the Capital Growth Management Company and the Quality Wire Products Company. He also served as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nativity School. He was also Minister of Commerce and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Bahrain from 1976 to 1995 and the Advisory Board of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States from 1997 to 2007.
