Court Hands down 5-Year Jail Term to 5 Suspects and 1-Year Jail Term to Sixth over Case of Blasting Gas Cylinder and Burning Tires in A’ali

Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal law convicted 6 Bahrainis of blasting a gas cylinder and burning tires at Amphora Roundabout in A'ali. The court sentenced 5 suspects to 5 years in jail and sentenced the sixth one to one year in jail because he is under 18 years. It also added one-month jail term and 50 BD fine to the fourth suspect over acquiring a brass knuckles and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that the suspects agreed among each other to burn tires and blast a gas cylinder, adding and that they met on 13/8/2017 and had a petroleum bottle with them and a number of tires. They put the tires and gas cylinder on Sheikh Zayed Street, near Amphora Roundabout in A'ali, set them to fire which caused the gas cylinder to explode and then fled away.
The authorities reached the suspects through "investigations".
