Court Binds University to Pay 47000 BD for 4 Gulf National Students

Bahrain Mirror: The High Administrative Court bound one of the private universities to pay 47000 BD for 4 Gulf national students, because the university didn't graduate them after passing the courses they registered in, due to a university administrative error.
The students brought a lawsuit against the university demanding it to pay them the courses and registration fees and to pay each one of them 35000 BD for traveling fees from their countries to Bahrain and 5780 BD to each of them for expenses of residing in Bahrain as well as 10800 BD for scholarships, in addition to attorney fees.
The plaintiffs said they have applied for university to register in the academic programs for PhD and that they paid the fees, but the university refrained from graduating them despite successfully passing the courses.
The court bound the university to pay 12606 BD for the first suspect, 12046 for the second one, 11958 for the third and 11204 for the fourth for the registration fees paid to the university and 66.6 BD for each one of them as a temporal compensation, 1000 BD divided on the 15 plaintiffs. The court refused the other demands of the students and bound the university to pay 47000 BD for the 4 students as a compensation for not receiving graduation certificates, despite passing the courses and also bound it to pay the expenses.
