King Hamad Ratifies Law Preventing Dissidents from Sports and Social Clubs Memberships

Bahrain Mirror: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified on Tuesday (July 31, 2018) a law denying dissidents right to membership in societies and clubs.
The legislative authority had adopted an amendment to the law on the social and cultural associations and clubs and private bodies working in the field of youth and sports and private institutions preventing leaders of opposition societies from membership of clubs.
The law stipulated that the "board members should enjoy all civil and political rights". These are the rights denied to dissidents.
King Hamad issued a law in July preventing leaders of opposition societies from taking part in the elections.
