Bahrain Mirror: Members of the Civil Housing Committee Al-Dair and Samaheej met with officials from the Ministry of Housing and submitted a written letter to the Ministry inquiring about the location of the two villages' upcoming residential projects and their timetable.
Members called on the Ministry of Housing to acquire the large areas and lands surrounding the two villages and turn them into housing projects that serve the residents, protect them and ensure that they are not dispersed in areas far from the villages, which goes in line with the village extension project.
One member said that their hope currently is pinned on the housing project in Diyar Al-Muharraq. There is also a large plot of land facing Bahrain International Airport which the Ministry can acquire and convert into a residential project, he said, adding that the two areas will cover a large portion of the housing requests of Al-Dair and Samaheej residents.
