Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini police have taken legal action against a Bahraini who claimed he had been assaulted by Asian nationals, the Northern Police Chief said.
He stated via the Ministry of the Interior's account on Twitter that "legal measures have been taken against the person behind the voice recording (24-year-old Bahraini), in which he falsely alleges he has been subjected to an attempted assault by sharp objects and imprisonment of his freedom by Asian nationals, in preparation for referral to the Public Prosecution."
The recording of the Bahraini man was widely circulated, as he said that he was assaulted in Hamla, southwest of Manama, by Asian nationals before escaping from them and contacting the Hamad Town police station, also claiming that their Bahraini lawyer of Syrian origin tried to bribe him to waiver his right.
