Bahrain Mirror: Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the news that Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa insulted China at his Majlis meeting on Sunday (August 26, 2018).

Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper had reported the minister as saying that the Chinese people are gamblers.

The ministry said "what has been published by the writer quoting the minister is untrue (...) the writer's statements were abusive towards a highly esteemed and appreciated friendly country and that similar statements can never be issued by a Minister of Foreign Affairs."
