Capital Revenues in Six Months Reaches 43 Million Dinars

Bahrain Mirror: Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Capital Secretariat, Mazen Al-Omran, said that the revenues of the capital's secretariat amounted to around BD 43 million with the end of the first half of this year, 35 million of which were transferred to the Ministry of Finance and only 8 million remained with the Secretariat.
He further pointed out that what is transferred to the Secretariat is distributed among periodic expenses such as salaries and maintenance budget, while not benefiting from these revenues for implementation of municipal projects, since the financing of municipal projects is from the budget of municipal revenues.
Regarding the source of these revenues, he said: "These revenues are collected from fees and rent sums of municipal property as well as violation penalties, and the 10 percent is taken from the value of rents specified in the contracts for the rental of real estate, of apartments, shops and buildings as well as charges of road work licenses and advertisement and other fees.
