Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court in Bahrain adjourned the trial of 171 defendants, accused of involvement in an open sit-in outside the home of the spiritual leader of the Shiite majority in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, in what has become known as the "Diraz Raid."
The Court decided to postpone the case until October 29, in order to listen to the eight witness out of the 30 witnesses working at the interior ministry.
One of people working in the interior minister said in his confession in the previous session that one of the suspects led them to the place where protestors hide arms and explosives.
The court had already released 140 detainees under 200 BD bail and ordered the continued detention of 24 others. The public prosecution had referred the 171 defendants to trial after accusing them of attacking security men and suing force and violence against them, assembling, committing riots as well as acquiring Molotov.
On May 23, 2017, the authorities arrested about 286 citizens outside the home of the spiritual leader of the Bahraini Shiite majority, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, during the raid on the Diraz sit-in, which left five Bahrainis killed and dozens of others injured.
