Al-Shareqi Detained for 15 Days after Arrest in Karana

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecutor's Office ordered, on October 14, 2018, holding Hassan Al-Shareqi in custody for 15 days pending investigation, after he was arrested in Karana Friday afternoon.
Security forces had cracked down on a peaceful demonstration in the town of Karana, and arrested at least five activists, including a number of martyrs' fathers.
A number of photos posted by activists showed the moment security forces attacked the demonstration in Karana. Witnesses have confirmed that the authorities arrested "the father of martyr Sayed Hashim, father of martyr Ali Mushaima, activist Ali Al-Shareqi, Abu Mohammed Al-Akrawi and a citizen named Yasin from the town of Karana", along with other demonstrators.
On Friday afternoon (October 12, 2018), protests were staged in a number of villages and towns across the country, calling for the boycott of the municipal and parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in November 2018.
