Suspects in Buri Oil Pipeline Blast Sentenced to Life in Jail, Revoked of Citizenships

Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court issued on Monday (October 15, 2018) 5 life term sentences to 5 suspects, accused of bombing an oil pipeline in Buri. It also handed down 10-year jail term to the 6th suspect and 5-year jail term to the 7th. The court ordered the defendants to jointly pay the sum of BD 64,577.041 to compensate for the damages caused by bombing the oil pipeline. Moreover, the court decided to revoke the nationality of all the defendants except the seventh suspect and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
A large explosion occurred in an oil pipeline near Buri on November 10, 2017, leading to the emergence of a huge fire that reached a group parked cars and damaged number of houses.
