Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced a muezzin (an Asian national) to death on Wednesday (October 31, 2018) for killing and dismembering a mosque imam. "The High Criminal Court has issued its verdict in the case of the murder of the Bin Sheddah Imam, Abdul Jalil Al-Ziyadi, unanimously agreeing to punish the first defendant (the murderer) with the death penalty and the second defendant (his accomplice) with one year imprisonment," said Hussein Khamis, head of the Muharraq Prosecution Office. The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized items and a final deportation of the second defendant from the country following the execution of the sentence. The first defendant confessed to killing the victim in retaliation for repeatedly sending complaints about him to the Waqf administration, which decided to terminate his services. While the second defendant admitted to helping him dispose of the body.
