Appeals Court: One-Year Jail Term Handed down to Suspect Accused of Hiding Fugitive Wanted in Politically-Motivated Case

Bahrain Mirror: The High Criminal Appeals Court communed a 3-year jail term issued again a suspect convicted of hiding fugitive wanted in politically-motivated case to 1-year jail term only.
The authorities say that the suspect hid a wanted in his domicile in Sitra and helped him, despite knowing he is security wanted.
The authorities accused the suspect of hiding, in person, on November 18, 2018, the wanted despite being aware of that. The first-instance court sentenced the suspect to 3 years in jail. However, he appealed the verdict in the appeals court which accepted it and commuted the sentence to one-year in jail instead of 3.
