Oil Minister: Bahrain Discusses Allowing Private Sector to Invest in Oil Projects

Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini oil Minister Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that the National Oil and Gas Authority is currently holding discussions with several private sector entities, with a view to allowing them invest in oil projects within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Speaking on the sidelines of a conference on energy in the Middle East, he said that the authority is seeking, through discussions with the private sector, to obtain an additional source to finance energy fund.
Bahrain launched a $1bn energy fund in May. Bahrain Energy Fund would invest in a range of energy projects in the refining and production sectors including newly discovered oil and gas fields and others in more advanced stages.
