Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): British MP Lord Paul Scriven raised a question on January 15 to the UK government on the measures it intends to take with the government of Bahrain to ensure that Bahraini political prisoners Ali Haji and Naji Fateel have immediate access to medical care.

He also raised a question to the government on January 10 on the discussions it had had with the government of Bahrain about the release of Sayed Nazar Al-Wadaei, Mahmood Marzooq Mansoor and Hajar Mansoor Hassan, following the statement by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention that they were held because of their family ties with Sayed Ahmed Al-Wadaei.

None of his questions were answered, contrary to the one he asked regarding what representations it had made to the government of Thailand about the detention of Bahraini refugee Hakeem Al-Araibi and its plans to extradite him to Bahrain despite reports of him having been tortured in that country for his involvement in political protests.

Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon had answered this question saying "We are aware that Hakeem Al-Araibi is currently in detention in Thailand. This is a matter for the Governments of Thailand, Bahrain and Australia."
