Ayatollah Qassim Leaves Iraq for Mashhad to Visit Imam Reza Holy Shrine

Bahrain Mirror: Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, the spiritual leader of the Shia in Bahrain, arrived in the holy city of Mashhad in Iran on Saturday (February 2, 2019) to visit the shrine of Imam Ali Reza, the eighth imam of Shiite Muslims.
Sheikh Qassim left Bahrain for treatment in London on July 9, 2018, with a temporary passport, where he underwent more than one successful surgery.
On December 26, he traveled to Iraq, heading to the holy city of Najaf, where he met with Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani in a special meeting. He also met with the most prominent religious authorities and scholars of Najaf, such as Ayatollah Sayyid Saeed Al-Hakim and Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafi.
Ayatollah Qassim spent nearly a month and a week in Iraq, during which he visited the holy shrine of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib in Najaf, and the shrines of the Shiite imams in Karbala, Baghdad and Samarra. He also visited graves of a number of senior Shiite scholars.
