After Harsh Verdicts against Diraz Protest Defendants, Al-Wefq Says World Should Wake up from its Slumber

Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said on Wednesday (February 27, 2019) that the Bahraini judiciary is in the service of the security and intelligence apparatuses in full; thus, the judiciary issued its verdicts on innocent citizens, but did not make a move to try the killers and criminals who killed five innocent citizens and tore their bodies apart by live bullets in cold blood in the same incident.
The society added in the statement it issued after the court handed down verdict to about 170 defendants in case of protesting outside Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's house that "the death certificates issued by the regime - which were not handed over to the families, but were leaked, and Al-Wefaq obtained copies of them - revealed that the martyrs were killed by being shot at close range, some of which did not exceed one meter."
It stressed that "these honorable people who were sentenced are innocent, adding that the regime's habit and project is to try all the people that have good consciences and honest opinions; therefore, trials have become a sign of honor and patriotism."
Al-Wefaq further stressed that the world should wake up from its slumber and follow what the abnormal authorities are doing in Bahrain and the size of their criminality and separation from the people, while they take advantage of the Western relations, projects and interests in Bahrain, which form a lever for the regime to continue its violations and crimes against human rights.
The regime courts handed down yesterday sentences ranging between one and 10 years to around 170 Bahrainis accused of showing solidarity with Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, during the brutal bloody attack on Sheikh Qassim's house and its surrounding, where it killed five citizens.
