Bahrain Mirror: The security authorities in Bahrain released the Chairman of the (dissolved) Islamic Scholars' Council, Sayed Majid Al-Mashaal on Wednesday (February 27, 2019), after detaining him for over 3 weeks.
He was arrested on January 31, 2019 only two days after his release after serving his sentence. Following 15 days of detention, on February 17, 2019, the Public Prosecution extended it for additional 15 days pending investigation over charges of inciting hatred against the regime.
It is noteworthy that on January 28, 2019, the security authorities released Al-Mashal after he had completed serving his two and a half-year prison sentence. He has been imprisoned since July 2016 for his obvious positions defending Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, who is deemed the most prominent spiritual authority for Shiites in Bahrain.
