House of Representatives Approves Bill Banning Expats from Owning Properties in Residential Areas despite Gov't Reservation

Bahrain Mirror: The House of Representatives approved a draft bill banning expats from owning property in residential areas and allowed them to only own properties in investment zones, aiming at contributing to solve the housing crisis in the kingdom and limiting the increase in real estates prices.
The government had expressed reservation regarding the bill, saying that only few foreigners own properties in residential areas.
