Justice Ministry Prevents Non-Bahraini Legists from Giving Consultation or Following any Administrative Measure in Ministry

Bahrain Mirror: The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa issued a circular banning law firms that employ non-Bahraini legists from allowing these legists to give legal consultation directly to their clients on behalf of the licensed office or running law firms themselves. The circular also prohibited non-lawyers enlisted in the lawyers lists to follow any administrative procedures at any of the ministry's departments as of September 1, 2019.
The minister's circular read:
First: Non-lawyer firms enlisted in the lawyers list are prevented from following up any administrative measures at any of the ministry's departments as of September 1, 2019.
Second: Law firms employing non-Bahraini legists are prohibited from providing legal advice directly for their clients in the name of the authorized office or running the law firms themselves.
Third: All licensed law firms shall inform the registrar general of the numbers and names of registered lawyers under training and non-Bahraini legists registered with them not later than 15/8/2019, and shall notify the Registrar General of any changes in the said data.
Fourth: Law firms and ministry employees, each according to their specialty, shall commit to this circular that shall become effective a day after its publication.
