Health Ministry Denies Outbreak of Virus Causing Renal Failure of 8 Children

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Health (MOH) has denied reports of the outbreak of a virus or bacteria in the air, which resulted in 8 kidney failures in child patients, which required them to undergo kidney dialysis.
The Ministry said in a statement that it5 received in the past two months three cases of children suffering from severe diarrhea caused by a virus that releases toxins leading to poor kidney function or kidney failure, as a result of eating contaminated food, especially meat, stressing that "these cases were treated and recovered completely, while only one case underwent renal dialysis."
