Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities announced on Saturday (July 27, 2019) the execution of two political dissidents.
Families of death convicts Ahmad Isa Al-Malali (24 years) and Ali Mohammad Al-Arab (25 years) confirmed the execution of sentence. The convicts are accused of killing an officer in the interior ministry in 2017, however, they deny these accusations and confirm that their confessions were extracted under torture that included pulling out toenails and electric shocks.
Al-Arab and Al-Malali had already said that their confessions were extracted under duress, however, the court relied only on confessions to convict them without the presence of other evidence.
This is the second time the authorities execute political dissidents. Three citizens: Abbas Al-Samei, Ali Al-Singace and Sami Mushaima were executed on January 14, 2017.
