Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini community and a number of Bahraini organizations held yesterday a memorial ceremony in Beirut for martyrs Ahmad Al-Malali and Ali Al-Arab, in which representatives of Lebanese, Arab and Bahraini organizations took part in.
Ruba Assaf, media person, presented the ceremony and pointed out to the unlawful executions carried out in Bahrain on Saturday morning "How has the regime, as usual, shed the blood of Bahrainis, who have been demanding a democratic state and genuine participation in state governance?"
Sheikh Qassim Seblini, representing president of the Shiite Supreme Council Sheikh Abdulamir Kabalan, offered condolences to Bahrain and its people saying: "Instead of intensifying efforts to repel evil of terrorism, aggression and hegemony, some regimes increase the nation's concerns, depriving their people of their basic rights, including freedom of opinion."
He confirmed that "President of the Shiite Supreme Council decried the executions carried out against these two oppressed men, wondering where the international human rights organization, the Red Cross, and the Arab league as well as the institutions who claim to monitor nations and regimes from these violations are?" He concluded by expressing his sincere condolences to the people of Bahrain and families of martyrs.
Sheikh Saleem Saleh, representing Union of Muslim Ulama, participated in the ceremony and stated "the two martyrs were unjustly killed while the regime is fabricating its own narratives," adding that "what our people in Bahrain are witnessing is embarrassing to humanity". He went on to say that every one of us has to condemn this oppression.
Member of Ansarullah movement in Yemen, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Dilmi, also extended his condolences to the great people of Bahrain and families of the martyrs. He said it is necessary to recall the exploits of the martyrs, and what they've offered and the struggles of the Bahraini people, who "despite their small number offer a great lesson for the whole nation in standing in the face of an arrogant regime, no matter what the sacrifices are."
Secretary-General of the Arab and Islamic Gathering Forum on Supporting the Resistance Yehya Ghaddar stressed that the people of Bahrain are patient and persistent in their national struggle, adding that they are recognized for their heroic history in struggle, awareness and keenness for national unity and the pursuit of freedom, sovereignty and independence.
"The martyrdom of the two heroes who were executed by the unjust rulers, based on fabricated and sham trials, gives the free people of the nation and its resistors more determination to support the Bahraini people in their peaceful movement," he said.
President of the Khiam Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture, Mohammad Safa, indicated that "the death penalty in general is a shame to humanity, so how about an execution carried out arbitrarily and politically as happened with the two heroes Ali Al-Arab and Ahmad Al-Malali".
He saw that the execution is a part of long series of silencing people, collective execution of people through citizenship revocation and travel bans. He also said that it aims at silencing the opposition, defenders and equality and justice seekers.
Khalil Barakat of the Arab National Congress said "the ruling family execution of two men in Bahrain comes within context of oppression and torturing measures in addition to citizenship revocation, because the people of Bahrain, throughout the years, have been peacefully demanding their legitimate rights in achieving reforms that allow them to choose their representatives and maintain the sovereignty and independence of their representatives," but "the king and those around him are determined not to hear the voice of the people," using the protection of the U.S. navy and the British base.
He highlighted that the Bahraini regime has drowned in normalization with Israel.
Barakat expressed solidarity with the people of Bahrain, calling on the human rights organizations to take a firm stance that prevents Bahrain rulers from proceeding with executions.
At the end of the ceremony, Yousif Rabie thanked the attendees on behalf of the Bahraini community, people of Bahrain and families of martyrs, on their ethical and humanitarian stances in supporting the Bahraini people who are demanding their rights. He stressed that Bahrainis, with their men, women and children will keep this stance in their memories in order to write a better tomorrow far from injustice and tyranny.
