Bahrain Mirror: Saudi Minister of Energy Khalid Al-Falih said on Saturday that Shaybah oilfield was targeted by explosive-laden drones.
Yemeni army said earlier that it had targeted the Shaybah oilfield with 10 drones, targeting Aramco's oil facilities in south-eastern Saudi Arabia.
Al-Falih explained in a statement published by Saudi Press Agency that "at 6:20 a.m. today (17 August, 2019), a processing unit of Shaybah's natural gas plant was targeted by explosive-laden drones, resulting in a limited fire."
"The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished resulting in minor damages and thankfully with no causalities to personnel."
He confirmed that "Saudi Arabia's oil production and exports were not interrupted as a result of this terroristic attack."
"This act of terrorism and sabotage is only an extension of those acts that have recently targeted the global oil supply chains, including oil pipelines in the kingdom, and oil tankers," Al-Falih said.
"This cowardly attack once again highlights the importance of the international community's response to all terrorist actors who carry out such acts of sabotage, including the Houthis."
In May, Yemen announced launching a similar attack with 7 drones that targeted Aramco. Meanwhile, Saudi energy minister said that two oil pumping stations for the East-West pipeline had been hit by explosive-laden drones.
