Bahrain Thwarted 50 Million Hacking Attempts since February 2018: Minister

Bahrain Mirror: Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Abdulhussein Mirza said that the Information and E-Government Authority has thwarted several attempts to hack a number of ministries and government institutions, including 5,000 viruses, 2.7 million unsolicited e-mails and about 50 million data hacking, indicating that all of these attempts have been thwarted since February 2018. The minister stressed that all countries are subjected to cyber-attacks and must take precautions and measures.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the "Cyber security" conference, organized Bahrain Technology Companies Society on 3 and 4 September, Mirza explained that there is a High Committee for Information and Communication Technology, led by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed bin Mubarak and membership of number of ministers.
