Official Statistics: Foreigners Exceed Bahrainis by 124,000

Bahrain Mirror: An official statistics issued by the Information and E-Government Authority revealed that Bahrain's total population until 2018 has been estimated at 1,503,091, with 689,417 Bahrainis compared to 813,377 foreigners residing in the country.
Data reveals that the number of foreigners is more than that of Bahrainis. Foreigners exceed Bahrainis by 123,960. While there were about 759,019 foreigners in 2017, they increased by 54,358 in 2018.
According to official figures, the number of working Bahrainis, according to the latest statistics for 2018, was 17,861 workers, and the number of non-Bahraini workers was 17,241.
The statistics, estimated by the population density among the governorates, show that the majority of the population is in the capital governorate, which recorded 561,880, followed by the Northern Governorate, which has a total population of about 363,159 people.
The population in the southern governorate is estimated at 309,426, while Muharraq recorded the lowest population at 268, 626.
