Court Hands Down 3-Year Prison Term in Absentia to Defendant Accused of Forging Bachelor's Degree from France

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced a defendant in absentia to 3 years in prison for falsifying a higher academic degree and ordered the confiscation of the forged document.
The accused submitted a request to the first witness in her capacity as head of the Foreign Certificate Equivalency Department at the Ministry of Education to equalize a certificate he obtained from Institute of Political Studies from Menton branch in France and attached his degrees, high school certificate and its equivalent, his passport and the stamps of the foreign certifications. However, the Education Ministry reviewed the competent authorities in the donor country "France" which said that the certificate provided by the accused is incorrect and was not issued by the Institute.
