Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society condemned the appeals court upholding of death sentences against political detainees Mohammad Ramadan and Hussein Ali.
Al-Wefaq described the ruling as "behavior that reveals the weakness of the ruling regime and how it's delving in security options to confront the peaceful and civilized popular movement."
"The Bahraini regime's persistence in punishing and prosecuting dissidents, who represent the majority of the people of Bahrain, reflects the magnitude of the constitutional and political crisis and the conflict of trust between the authoritarian regime and the people," it added.
Al-Wefaq denounced "the silence of the international community and the states supporting the Bahraini regime, which is committing its violations based on unbroken support and lies in order to tarnish the image of the national popular movement demanding democratic transition and building a state of justice, institutions and law."
Al-Wefaq called for putting an end to all retaliatory political trials, for respecting the humanity of citizens and halting the ongoing methods of intimidation and brutality in Bahrain.
