Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Sheikh Ahmed bin Atiyatullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Follow-Up in the Royal Court, doesn't get tired or bored doing what exposes his passion for power. For him, a new reality is being shaped, and there is a movement of forces within his family imposed by the death of Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, so he must act quickly. So he instructed his followers to establish an army called the Bahraini Electronic Army, barely two weeks since Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa assumed the prime minister's position.
As a computer science graduate and a former agent of the Central Information Service, where he has worked for more than 20 years, he understands the importance of non-conventional armies in dominating and occupying positions. His internal battle is with his family before regime opponents, who have been exhausted by nine years of sustained repression.
For weeks, the newspaper he owns "Al-Watan" has been publishing articles about the importance of having an electronic campaign that controls the flow of information, which is none other than what we jokingly know as "electronic flies". It only has been a short period and we've found someone who brought the news of its creation and aired its first statement. Is it a coincidence that he was the one, one of the newspaper's employees, to do so? If you think "tools" are working in vain, you should question your awareness.
In fact, Sheikh Ahmed bin Atiyatullah is a fighter determined to achieve his goals, but his real problem is that he is not good at wiping the trail that he leaves behind. The late Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa had previously reprimanded him during the so-called "Bandar Scandal" (2006). "I spent 40 years in government work and I was not caught on a piece of paper, while a 500-page report was written about you in your two years in government," he told him. This is how it is.
During the aforementioned scandal, which was a significant event that shattered the hopes placed on the king's project, which he launched at the beginning of his era, the work of Atiyatullah and his team focused on shaping the outcome of the elections by playing the strings of sectarian discord. However, his task now is to shape public opinion in order to design the form of his future position in power, so why not establish an electronic army whose task this time is not limited to fomenting sectarian discord between the "two sects", as the discord already exists and its effects are deep, but rather is focused on the family rift, whose small rehearsal we saw when we witnessed the humiliation of the Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on social media in his last two years, which ended in the imprisonment of one of his advisers Ibrahim al-Dosari after his accounts were hacked and a private conversation of him was leaked in which he called Atiyatullah a "dog".
The unveiling of Al-Bandar Report (2006) was the beginning of the actual end of the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa project, which he launched in 2002. Will the e-army of Ahmed bin Atiyatullah be the beginning of the end of an era that barely began for the king's son Sheikh Salman bin Hamad as prime minister?
