Bahrain Mirror: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development rejected the candidacy of 14 out of 16 citizens for the Saar Charity Fund elections due to the political isolation law.
Sayed Jaafar Sayed Salman, one of the candidates for the Saar fund elections, said the ministry rejected the candidacy of 14 citizens who applied for the fund's board of directors elections for 2022-2023.
"Saronline" network, specialized in covering Saar region news, said that the ministry refused the candidacy of each of: Sayed Fadel Alawi Abdulaziz, Anwar Maki Hasan, Sayed Yaser Alawi Al-Sari, Mohammad Hasan Mansour, Sayed Jaafar Salman Mahfouz, Ali Mohsen Mansour, Sayed Mohammad Ahamd Ali, Sayed Baqer Jaafar Mahdi, Rajab Jaafar shaaban, Sayed Mahmoud Adnan Maki, Ahamd Saleh Mansour, Sayed Mahfouz Adnan Al-Mahfouz, Mohammad Hassan Saleh and Sayed Abdullah Taqi Mahfouz, and accepted the candidacy of Hasan Mohammad Hasan and Sayed Jalal Hasan Ashour.
This questionable law deprives citizens who belong to (dissolved) political societies from running for elected (municipal and parliamentary) councils and the departments of public interest associations and sports clubs.
Activists say the law is directed against the opposition to remove it from the public space, after dissolving the most important three opposition political societies: Al-Wefaq, Wa'ad and Amal.
