Bahrain Mirror: Author Abbas Bou Safwan said that Prime Minister, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is still ignoring demand to meet with a number of licensed political societies.

Bou Safwan, who has been in London since 2011, said "About eight political societies signed a request to meet with the king's eldest son, in a letter sent by a number of societies, which are still allowed to be publicly active in the small island."

The societies that submitted the request are: Al-Menber National Islamic Society (Muslim Brothers), the Nationalist Democratic Society (opposing), the Gathering of National Unity (government loyalists), the Progressive Tribune, the Unitary National Democratic Assemblage as well as 3 other government societies.

The signatories hope that the king's son, who occupies the position of deputy commander-in-chief of the army, will listen to the complaint of societies that face difficult financial circumstances, and public reluctance, due to the citizens' fear of joining the political frameworks, and attending their activities, fearing from the tightened security grip.

Bou Safwan indicated that not all of the societies have headquarters.

He said that the Salafist Al-Asalah society did not sign the letter addressed to Salman bin Hamad.
