Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities released 7 political detainees, who have served more than three quarters of their prison terms, under the alternative penal code.

"The Bahraini authorities released 7 political detainees under alternative penal code, most of them have spent three quarters of their prison terms. One of those released remained confidential due to the fine imposed against him," human rights activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh said.

She added that the released included Mohammad Abdulshaheed who is sentenced to 8 years and has served 7 years of his term, and Abdulwahed Al-Ghanemi who is sentenced to 8 and a half years in jail and has served 6 years of his prison term.

Nader Fatil, who has one year and 7 months left from his prison term, was released, along with Hasan Abdulshahhed, who is sentenced to 10 years in jail and has served 7 years of his term. Besides, Ali Saeed Abdulkarim from Diraz and Jassim Abdullah, who is sentenced to 15 years in jail and has served 9 years of his prison term, were released.
