Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights said that it has been 7 days since contact with death row political detainees in Jaw Central Prison has been lost, noting that their families "do not know anything about the fate of their sons."
BFHR considered in a tweet on Saturday, May 20, 2023, that "the arbitrary death penalty is not the only means of retaliation against prisoners, as well as torture and ill-treatment," adding that "this silence on their situation is another means of revenge and arbitrariness," stressing that they have the right to full freedom.
Zainab Ibrahim, wife of death row detainee Mohammad Ramadan, reiterated her concern for the fate of her husband and fellow detainee, who is also sentenced to death, Hussein Marzouq, noting that the fate of Ramadan and Marzouq remain unknown.
Ibrahim said in a tweet: "We do not know where they were taken, whether they are in solitary confinement, or being mistreated or tortured."
She said that she only heard false promises from her daily calls to prison, reiterating her demands that the regime reveals the fate of her husband.
