Bahrain Mirror: On Monday, March 18, 2024, prisoners held in Building 10 at Jaw Central Prison returned their Iftar and Suhoor meals in solidarity with their fellow inmates in Buildings 7 and 9, who protested the transfer of political prisoners to isolation by the prison administration. On Sunday, March 17, 2024, prisoners in Building 9 had returned their meals in protest against the isolation policy, showing solidarity with 53 political prisoners in Building 7, who continue their protest against the prison administration's insistence on implementing isolation.
Political prisoners demanded clear legal regulations from the prison administration regarding the use of isolation, the types of violations that warrant its implementation, and its duration, according to human rights activist Ibtisam Al-Sayegh's post on the "X" platform on Sunday.
This came after the prison administration breached its commitments made during the "Striking Is Our Right" strike by prisoners to end isolation, and after security officers persisted in continuing this practice.
