Bahrain Mirror: Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim hopes that the release of a number of political prisoners will be a promising step toward a serious, accelerated, and comprehensive corrective path to resolve the existing problems in the political relationship between the authorities and the Bahraini people.
He went on to say in a statement, released on Friday (April 26, 2024), that "after the recent release of a significant number of political prisoners, regardless of the motives, which has brought general joy to the people, there has been news circulating among the public circles that the prisons will be emptied of the remaining political prisoners." He stressed that "if this happens, it would add credibility to a corrective step at the level of this very concerning file for the honorable families of the prisoners, all the honorable people, and those with awakened consciences."
Sheikh Qassim warned that "if the outcome of this news is disappointing, it will lead to a reaction of pain, mistrust, and intense political anger, leading to tension, escalation of events, harming the interest of the entire country, undermining its security, and burdening everyone in it."
