Bahrain Mirror: President of Bahrain Center for Human Rights and Prominent Human Rights Defender Nabeel Rajab said that his trial is malicious, and that his arrest is due to his meeting with the US Secretary of State John Kerry, during his visit to Bahrain in April.
Rajab's official Twitter account quoted him saying "My arrest came after they were annoyed due to my interview with the US Secretary of State as I was summoned for interrogation after the meeting," adding "the case is malicious. I was arrested after I refused to disavow my name from a letter written by Gulf activists to Obama during his visit to Saudi Arabia."
Rajab's comments were made in the courtroom while pleading. The judge then decided to adjourn the case until October 6.
