Minister of Electricity Abdulhussein Mirza said that the Information and E-Government Authority has thwarted several attempts to hack a number of ministries and government institutions, including 5,000 viruses, 2.7 million unsolicited e-mails and about 50 million data hacking.

Bahrain's annual growth in gross domestic product, adjusted for inflation, slowed in the third quarter of this year as both the oil and non-oil sectors lost momentum, the government's statistics website showed on Sunday.

Information and eGovernment Authority Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed said that 650 governmental processes were transferred to cloud computing, with the transfer of over 50% of websites and governmental electronic services to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The quarterly report of monitoring the performance of the eGovernment channels revealed the growth of ePayment value across various channels by 12% during the first quarter of 2018 versus last quarter of 2017. Values reach more than BD23 million completed from January to March 2018 with an increase of 10% in number of financial transactions.
