The Minister of Energy says that the Government Decided not to Repair the Lighting Poles in the Areas of Protests

Bahrain Mirror: Responding to the question raised by MP Majid Asfour, which will be presented in the Parliamentary session on Tuesday, concerning the presence of an automatic notification system about the malfunctions in the street lighting in Bahrain, the Minister of Energy, Abdul Hussain Mirza, said that, "pursuant to the decision of the ministerial commission number 5-20/2013 stipulating that the competent government institution will not repair the lighting poles that are deliberately destroyed as long as the violent actions and riots continue in the streets, unless in the cases demanding security requirements."
Mirza stressed that, "based on this decision, no lighting poles were repaired or replaced due to the deliberate acts of vandalism in these areas," according to Al-Wasat newspaper.
