An official in the Bahraini National Oil & Gas Authority said in statement to the Al-Eqtisadiah (The economic) newspaper that this step is being currently studied by the Bahraini government so it would take the suitable decision in light of the results and recommendations of the study," pointing out that "this step comes within the framework of reviewing the policies of subsidies provided by the Bahraini government for petroleum products."
He also explained that "these approaches are within the framework of reviewing the policies of subsidies adopted by the government," indicating that "the study includes some other commodities and products including prices of electricity and water."
The Bahraini official refrained from announcing the specific date set for taking this step. He; however, stressed that "it will be based on the results of the study being conducted at the moment," adding that they "will announce it when it's ready."
