Bahrain Mirror: A document disclosed that the Palestinian National Authority has requested assistance from Bahrain worth 4 million dollars in 2013 to build domiciles for Palestinian diplomats.

The document issued by the President of the Palestinian Authority's Office and signed by President Mahmoud Abbas's adviser pointed out a "decision by Palestinian diplomats to establish a cooperative society aimed at building domiciles for Palestinian diplomats" and their need "to receive aid worth 4 million dollars."

Although Palestinian activists on social media doubted the project mentioned in the document, pointing out that it is an act of corruption, it is still unknown whether Bahrain that is suffering from a severe deficit has actually met the request.

The letter sent to Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa stated that "the project faced a lot of difficulties in accomplishing what has remained and the bank debts have accumulated. Thus, this is what made us send a letter to your excellence."

"We kindly ask you to raise this subject to the parties concerned in order to provide the necessary aid to finish this important national project, noting that 4 million dollars are required to finish the project," the letter further read.

It also explained that "the project serves a group of diplomats and employees who have no domiciles in their country and decided to share their money."
