Bahrain’s Social Development Ministry Dissolves Board of Directors of 17 Civil Societies since Onset of 2015

Bahrain Mirror: The number of societies whose boards of directors have been dissolved by the Bahraini Ministry of Social Development since the onset of 2015 until the end of August 2015 reached 17.
This coincides with the International Day of Democracy (September 15) whose general theme of this year (2015) was "Space for Civil Society."
Unlike the professional societies that the Social Development Ministry dissolved after 2011 events, namely Bahrain Teachers Association and Bahrain Nursing Society, the ministry, according to the government newspaper, dissolved the boards of directors and assigned new ones for the following societies: Konkan Singers Club, American Mission Hospital Society, Association of Small Medium Sized Enterprises, Bahrain Human Rights Observatory, Bahrain Secretarial Association, Bahrain Arts Society, Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Coexistence of Religions, Husseini Art Studio Society and the Natural Health Society.
The ministry also dissolved the boards of directors of Suqaya Charity Society, Arab Youth Society, Quran Care Society, Bahrain Environmental Society, Arab Horizons Toastmasters Club, Bahraini Society for Transaction Services, and the Bahrain Veterinary Society.
