Bahraini Prosecution: FreejKarimi Account Owner Accused of Defaming Foreign Country & Illegal Residence

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Muharraq Attorney-General, Mooza Al-Na'ar, said that in the framework of the investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution concerning a suspect, owner of "FreejKarimi" account, it was established that the posted tweets incite hatred and defame a foreign country and its president in a way that affects its relation with the Bahraini Kingdom.
Investigations conducted by the Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security revealed that the account on which the tweets were posted belonged to the suspect, who wrote the tweets himself. Asked during the investigation about the tweets, he admitted to owning and managing the "FreejKarimi" account. Standing before the Public Prosecution, he denied managing the account and claimed he was a mere follower. Following a search warrant by the Public Prosecution, an electric detonator was seized from his house along with a number of mobile phones. Confronted with the seized items, he admitted that they belonged to him.
The Public Prosecution charged him with misusing wired and wireless communication devices, inciting hatred, defaming a foreign country and its president and illegally residing in the country as he was stripped of his nationality by a court ruling.
The prosecution ordered that the suspect be held in custody for seven days pending investigation and the seized items be referred to the forensic lab to be examined.
