Detainee Fadel Yahya Affected by Lupus disease..His Family Calls for His Release to Receive Proper Treatment

Bahrain Mirror: The family of detainee Fadel Abbas Yahya said that he was transferred recently to Al-Salmaniya Hospital after he was affected by Lupus disease (SLE), following six months of his arrest, and called for his release.
"During his detention, fadel complained about joint pain, as well as dizziness, and then thick, red and black scaly patches appeared on his skin and almost covered his whole face. He wasn't immediately taken to a doctor, for after he fainted in prison because of this disease that he has been suffering from for some time. He was admitted to the hospital and we couldn't recognize him because of the swelling on his face. These scaly patches also covered his body. He was also unable to stand and had a fever," his family stated.
"After a comprehensive examination, it was revealed that he was suffering from a disease called Lupus," they added.
His family further stressed that there are long periods between the dates of his appointments for medical examinations at the Al-Salmaniya Hospital are too long and reach up to six months, pointing out that he takes his medication regularly, but the disease he is suffering from needs a lot of care."
Yahya's family emphasized that he needs continuous care and treatment and he may not receive that in prison, calling for his release.
It is noteworthy that Fadel Abbas Yahya was sentenced to life imprisonment but after appealing the verdict, his sentence was commuted to 15 years in prison, and he has served almost four years until now.
